Ab Januar 2023 muss ich die Lieferung in Länder außerhalb Deutschlands einstellen. Noch offene Bestellungen sind davon nicht betroffen und werden noch ausgeliefert. Der Grund ist eine mittlerweile undurchsichtiger, komplexer und kostenintensive Bürokratie. Eine Bestellung aus dem Ausland und die Abholung in Deutschland (Cons/Werkstatt) wird weiter möglich sein.

Recycling ist wunderbar. In Deutschland zahle ich als Versender die Gebühren für das Recycling der Verpackungen. Dafür schätze ich den Umfang für die einzelnen Verpackungsmaterialien (Pappe, Kunststoff, etc.) und zahle eine entsprechende Recyclingpauschale. Der Vorgang ist recht einfach.

Man könnte sich das nun auch auf EU-Ebene vorstellen. Also eine Schätzung des Gesamtbedarfs an Versandkartonagen für ein Unternehmen und eine prozentuale Verteilung auf die einzelnen Länder, je nach Anzahl der verschickten Pakete ins jeweilige Land. Wäre einfach, gibt es aber nicht.

Für einige Länder gibt es Pauschalen, die erst ab einer gewissen Mindestmenge gezahlt werden. In anderen Ländern müssen (teils sehr hohe Pauschalen) ab dem ersten Paket gezahlt werden. Jedes Land anders und man muss sich pro Land einmal pro Jahr durch die geänderten Regeln durcharbeiten oder externe Dienstleister teuer dafür bezahlen.

Der Auslandsversand spielt im Moment keine sehr große Rolle im Gesamtvolumen und da ich alleine arbeite, werde ich diesen bürokratischen Aufwand auch vorläufig nicht betreiben. Ggf. wird sich das später wieder ändern, sobald der Shop komplett auf vorgefertigte Waren umgestellt ist.

From January 2023 I have to stop delivering to countries outside of Germany. Orders that are still open are not affected and will still be delivered. The reason is a meanwhile  complex and cost-intensive bureaucracy.  An order from abroad and collection in Germany (Cons/workshop) will still be possible.

Recycling is wonderful. In Germany, as the sender, I pay the fees for recycling the packaging. For this I estimate the volume of the individual packaging materials (cardboard, plastic, etc.) and pay a corresponding recycling fee. The process is quite simple.

One could now also imagine this at EU level. So an estimate of the total need for shipping boxes for a company and a percentage distribution to the individual countries, depending on the number of packages sent to the respective country. Would be easy, but there isn’t.

For some countries there are flat rates that are only paid from a certain minimum amount. In other countries (partly very high flat rates) have to be paid from the first package. Every country is different and you have to work through the changed rules once a year in each country or pay external service providers dearly for it.

At the moment, shipping abroad does not play a very large role in the overall volume and since I work alone, I will not go through this bureaucratic effort for the time being. This may change again later, as soon as the shop has completely switched to prefabricated goods.
